Welcome to the Rhinebeck Fire Department website! We hope you find our site interesting as you learn about who we are.

The Rhinebeck Fire Department was founded in 1834 and has been an active fire department ever since. We are located in the beautiful and historic village of Rhinebeck, NY, situated in Dutchess County in the picturesque Hudson Valley region of New York State. Rhinebeck is also home to the Dutchess County Fair, held every third week in August and the second largest County Fair in New York State.

Our primary response area is about 30 square miles and our response area has a population approximating 7500 residents in both the Village of Rhinebeck and the Town of Rhinebeck, with the Town being a mostly rural area. We operate out of a single fire station, with four pieces of apparatus, one ambulance, and an ATV. We have 50 motivated and dedicated Volunteers with 60% of our members certified at the Firefighter I & II Level and many are also certified EMT's.

For those of you who may be interested in joining the Rhinebeck Fire Department, there is an online form available. We encourage you to become a member and explore the many ways you can serve your community with the fire department.

We strive to provide excellent service to the community.
